Priest River celebrates senior night with a win
Priest River hosted Genesis Prep in a game winner on Friday night. Desi Humphrey scored 15 points to help take the win 33-17 over the Lady Jaguars.
“We wanted to pressure the ball in tonight's game,” head coach Tyler Douglas said.
The Spartans celebrated senior night for Hannah Cook, Ellie Davis, Monica Ibanez Palmer and Addy Kingery.
“Addy rebounded really well and played awesome on defense,” Douglas said.
Priest River hit the first basket to start out the game and led 10-2 at the end of the first quarter.
Lizzie McCracken scored two 3s for Priest River and 11 points overall.
“Desi and Lizzi shot the ball well and attacked the rim,” Douglas said.
The Spartans scored another 10 points and kept their lead 20-6 heading into halftime.
The third quarter was full of turnovers for both teams. Genesis Prep outscored Priest River for the first time, but the Spartans remained ahead 24-11 at the end of the third.
Priest River found their flow again in the final eight minutes. Humphrey scored six points and McCracken added two.
