Weight limits likely on roads
With warm, rainy weather, road weight limits are imminent on roads throughout the county, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said.
That means no early-morning hauling will be allowed on any Bonner County-maintained road posted with weight limits. A green flag indicates weight restrictions are imminent; a red flag or no flag indicates weight restrictions are in effect.
• District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — The following roads have been posted with green flags: all roads west and southwest of Highway 41, S. Santiago Road, Blanchard Cutoff Road, and Jewel Lake Road. In the northern part of District 1, Jones Road, Birch Banks Road, Hanford Drive, Comeback Bay Lane, and E. Comeback Bay Lane, Jones Road, Birch Banks Road, Hanford Drive, Comeback Bay Lane, and E. Comeback Bay Lane will be posted as red Monday morning.
• District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — The following roads in the district have been posted with green flags; All roads north of the Pend Oreille River between and including Anselmo Rd and Wrenco Loop, which includes all roads in Laclede south of U.S. 2. W. Settlement Road is also posted green. All of these roads will be posted red Friday morning.
• District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — No roads will be posted at this time.
Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
