Anthony ‘Dino’ Merola, 64
Anthony “Dino” Merola, 64, passed away peacefully in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Anthony was renowned to be a loving and caring friend, father and grandfather.
Anthony was born in Monterey, Calif., on March 25, 1958, to parents Simone and Alice Merola. While living in the Central Coast, he found his passion of mechanical design and technology while working as an engineer technician at ITW Dynatec, LTI and later as a mass flow controller manufacturer at Sierra Instruments for almost 30 years.
In 2008, Anthony moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, to be closer to immediate family. Prior to his retirement, he continued to work in what interested him most by becoming a lead machinist and fabricator at Unicep Packaging, LLC. During his downtime, he enjoyed spending time hunting, shooting guns with friends and could always be found watching football while rooting for his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders. He loved spending time with his dogs, Woody and later welcomed Junior to the family.
Anthony is survived by his two daughters, Renée (Jeff) Miguel and Courtney Gil-Merola; and four granddaughters, Aubrée, Chloé, Scarlette and Olivia Miguel.
A private family service, with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park, will be held at a later date.
