Weight limits near on county roads
Weight limits are imminent on a number of county roads, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said Wednesday.
That means no early morning hauling will be allowed on any Bonner County-maintained road posted with weight limits. A green flag indicates weight restrictions are imminent; a red flag or no flag indicates weight restrictions are in effect.
• District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — All roads have been posted with green flags indicating weight restrictions are imminent. Roads posted with weight limits are Jones Road, Birch Banks Road, Hanford Drive, Comeback Bay Lane and E. Comeback Bay Lane.
• District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — Dufort Road has been posted with green flags indicating weight restrictions are imminent. All roads north of the Pend Oreille River between and including Anselmo Road and Wrenco Loop, all roads in Laclede south of U.S. 2. and W. Settlement Road are posted with weight limits.
• District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — The following roads have been posted with green flags: Kootenai Bay Road, Oden Bay Road, Sunnyside Road (east and west entrances), Sunnyside Cutoff Road, the old highway, French Road, Providence Road, McGhee Road, W. Pine Street, Baldy Mountain Road, Gooby Road, Mountain View Road, Woodland Drive and N. Boyer Road, W. Bronx Road, Hidden Valley Road, W. Selle Road and Racetrack Road.
Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
