Teagun Holycross has found a flow, academically and athletically. The 2020 graduate of Priest River High School is breaking track and field records at the University of Montana and has worked his way to academic success.

After battling with injuries and missing his senior high school track season and indoor season freshman year at Montana due to COVID, he finds himself in a good place to strike at the Big Sky Championships.

Now in his junior year at Montana, Holycross is majoring in biology with an emphasis in genetics and has just been added to the Dean’s list thanks to his 3.75 GPA.

The track and field athlete recently competed at the Bobcat Performance meet where he crushed his 60-meter personal record not once, but twice running a 6.92 in prelims then 6.89 in the final.

Thanks to this performance, Holycross moved up 12 places in the Big Sky Conference. He’s now ranked seventh out of 66 men who will be competing at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Moscow on Feb. 23-25, 2023.

In the last 25 years, there hasn't been a faster sprinter than Holycross on the University of Montana men’s team. Depending on the source, he is either tied for first all-time or second all-time in the University of Montana record books.
