DYW Sandpoint sets program date
Distinguished Young Women of Sandpoint will be holding the 2023 program on Saturday, March 4.
The annual scholarship program will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint, 110 Main St., Sandpoint. Doors open at 3:15 p.m.
With fewer participants than in previous years, DYW Sandpoint organizers said the program didn't require the larger venue it typically uses.
"We found a venue that will create a more intimate setting where we are still able to showcase our amazing participants," Arlene Mitton, DYW Sandpoint co-chairman, said.
DYW Sandpoint committee members said they are excited about this year’s participants, who will be introduced at a later time.
Distinguished Young Women is a scholarship competition program available for girls graduating in the Class of 2024; typically their junior year of high school.
Founded in 1958, Distinguished Young Women is a free program that encourages participants to reach their full individual potential.
Distinguished Young Women aims to empower young women by providing over $1 billion in scholarship opportunities, and connecting with a nationwide network of women. It also aims to help them develop their self-confidence, and through its life skills workshops, help prepare them for success after high school.
