SHS champions welcomed home

Sandpoint High School girls basketball players and staff pose with the champions banner at Sandpoint High School on Sunday. The team was welcomed home after winning the 4A state title with a police escort through town, signs and fans cheering from the Long Bridge and a large crowd of friends and family at the high school.

A sign welcomes the Sandpoint High School girls basketball players home after the Bulldogs won the 4A state title, defeating the top-seeded Shelley Russets 69-65 in the state 4A championship Saturday night. The title is the first in program history for the Bulldogs, who went into the tourney as the third-seed.
