Seal overcame challenges to become 'Fearless' warrior
"Fearless" is a book about the story of Navy Seal Adam Brown.
Adam had graduated from high school, dropped out of college, then worked for his dad in the electrical business. His friends had gone off to college or joined the military.
Adam felt left behind and unfortunately got tied up with a girl who was on drugs and she got Adam involved in a bad way. He did some bad things, stealing, etc. to pay for his drug habit. He even ended up in jail.
One of his friends was in the Navy flight school, and his dad was a colonel in the military. They knew Adam was basically a smart good kid. The colonel got Adam into the Navy vouching for him.
Adam had always wanted to be a Seal, so he pursued it diligently and, lo and behold, became a Seal in Seal Team Six (they eventually took out bin Laden) and a good one. He had many deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and was fearless in taking on the enemy. He had been in the Navy for a little over 10 years and had many awards for bravery including the Bronze star with a “V” for valor.
While on deployment, his unit was assigned a mission to go after a Taliban bad guy. They had to walk over 5 miles to get to the spot where the Taliban killer was hiding. Eventually, they were in a hot firefight at the house where the Taliban leader was in. They needed to shoot a rocket-propelled grenade into the house.
Adam volunteered, but there was a tree in the way, while trying to get a clear shot, Adam was shot numerous times. The other Seals managed to get him out to a landing zone where he was picked up by a med evacuation helicopter, but Adam died in the emergency hospital.
He was survived by his wife and two children. He was later awarded the Silver Star for his bravery.
