Jan. 1, 1973 – BANDYS HOST PARTY
Bonner County Cattlemen and CowBelles held their Christmas party in the Bob Bandy home of at Edgemere, enjoying an evening of cards, a potluck dessert and gift exchange. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Coon, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Crandell, Mr. and Mrs. Art Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Olson, Mr. and Mrs. John Deeter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Woolsey and Mr. and Mrs. Garry Bristow and Mrs. Calhoon, mother of Mrs. Bandy.

WELCOME WAGON SEEKS NEW HOSTESS
Doctor’s orders necessitate the resignation of Margaret Walker as Welcome Wagon hostess. Mrs. Walker, long a leader in civic and club work in the community has been Welcome Wagon hostess for this area for five years.

TEN FIRMS SELL HISTORICAL CALENDARS
A local collector’s item will be the 1973 calendar published by the Bonner County Historical Society. Early day pictures in the calendar include scenes of Sandpoint, a logging camp, an Indian camp, the main street in Clark Fork, a view of early day Hope taken from the lake, the first road between Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry and the W.C. Racicot home on Boyer surrounded by stumps. Calendars may be purchased at The Eclipse Printery, Bi-Rite Drug, Pastime Cafe, Emerald Beauti-Shoppe and Daily Bee, as well as the Korner Restaurant and Store at Sagle, Butler’s One Stop Store at Hope and Don Maynard’s Barber Shop, Highway Cafe and Clark Fork Mercantile in Clark Fork.

BUNGALOW-PACK RIVER VALLEY NEWS
Fifty gathered at the schoolhouse on Christmas for the bounteous community dinner, the custom for a number of years. Among many delicious foods was a crate of oranges from Krebs & Adam, Sandpoint.

CREAMERY STAFF ENTERTAINED
Mr. and Mrs. Guy S. Helphrey of the Pend d’Oreille creamery entertained employes (sic) and families at a dinner at the Helphrey home on S. 2nd Wednesday. The guests were William Kennedy and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Van Gundy; Fred Soper and family, Van E. Nelson and family; Mr. and Mrs. William Gilmour; Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Hunner; Mrs. Hadley; Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Rowlands and Jean; Miss Frieda Walker; Albert Moeller and Frank Strong.
