Sandpoint continues to shine bright on the mat

The Sandpoint boys wrestling team traveled to Spokane Valley for the Pacific Northwest Classic tournament Jan. 6 and 7.

The Bulldogs competed at the Pacific Northwest Classic tournament over the weekend on Friday and Saturday at University High School.

Andrew Duke (18-1) beat last year's champion to claim first place in the 106-pound weight class and scored 30.0 team points. It was redemption for Duke, who faced the same matchup and took second at last year's tournament.

Aidan Rork (2-3) placed sixth at 106, Christian Troumbley-Karkoski (11-7) took third at 145, Ashlei Hawkins (12-8) brought home fourth at 126 and Calvin Hinds (5-5) wassixth at 18 for Sandpoint.
