Safety Fest registration opens Jan. 18
North Idaho College will offer free safety training at the 15th annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest on Feb. 22-24 at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, for the three-day event, which is an opportunity for front-line workers, safety professionals and the general public to receive free training from the area’s best safety instructors.
“Classes fill up fast, but are open to anyone interested in safety-related training,” said Colleen Hoffman, event organizer and Customized Training coordinator at the NIC Workforce Training Center. “They’re all free. Just register at www.nic.edu/safetyfest or call us at the Workforce Training Center.”
This year, the event will be held in person at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls. Safety Fest offers more than 90 classes to choose from including multiple OSHA classes (including OSHA 10), CPR/First Aid, Mine Safety, HAZWOPER refresher, Workzone Flagging, Active Shooter, Ladder and Work Platform Safety, Boom/Scissor Lift Operator and Remote Worker Safety-Backcountry Survival, among many others.
“This event is also a great opportunity for industry professionals to network while learning the most -up-to-date best practices for safety,” Hoffman said. “We provide classes every year based on the needs of the community. If it could save one life, it’s more than worth it.”
Organizers are always looking for companies to lend their support to the event. For information about how to be a part of Safety Fest 2023, as well as registration and general information, visit www.nic.edu/safetyfest or call 208-769-3333.
