Roberta Janell Tibbetts, 77
Roberta Janell Tibbetts was born on Feb. 6, 1945, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Robert and Janette (Baze) Dewbre and passed away Dec. 30, 2022, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Roberta or, as she preferred, Janell, was the oldest of three siblings. She was raised alongside her many aunts, uncles and cousins and valued the meaning of family. Janell moved to North Idaho in the late 1960s with her two small children, Veronica and Cody Carson. In 1970, she married Mac E. Tibbetts and had four more children: Tory Tibbetts (1971-1971), Tisha Tibbetts (Deerwester), Devon Tibbetts and Erica Tibbetts (Bennett). They soonafter moved to Sandpoint, where they raised their family.
Alongside her husband, they managed the K2 Motel for several years. Janell later worked as a pharmacy technician and then retired from Wal-Mart in the mid-2000s.
Janell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was compassionate, hard-working, fun, always eager to help others and had a way of making those around her feel loved. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and go dancing and enjoyed playing piano but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Carson of Sandpoint; her ex-husband, Mac Tibbetts of Ottis Orchards, Wash.; her children and their spouses, Veronica (Rick) Norton of Yucca Valley, Calif., Cody (Norma) Carson of Laramie, Wyo., Tisha (Doug) Deerwester of Newport, Wash., her son, Devon Tibbetts of Post Falls, Idaho, and Erica (John) Bennett of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; her 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at MickDuff's Beer Hall in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at 6 p.m. All who love Janell are warmly invited to join them in remembering this wonderful woman.
