Jan. 29, 1973 – SHS NEWS
Cheryl Balison, sophomore student in Mrs. Pat Benson’s fourth period Bookkeeping I class, reports that the class has been studying a chapter about posting to ledgers of a merchandising business.
Geometry classes taught by Miss Eva Whitehead have been working on proofs of triangles and congruents, according to Richard Cruickshank.

4-HERS CHOOSE NAME
At the second meeting of the newly formed 4-H club in the Schweitzer area, members chose the name, Mountain Mavericks. Two members of the Sandpoint F.F.A. Chapter attended and instructed the club in proper parliamentary procedure.

LAKESIDE LAKERS HAVE NEW MEMBERS
The Lakeside Lakers 4-H Club meeting Jan. 22 was called to order by Cindy Raineri. Mrs. Glen Chronic introduced new members Shelley and Mike Drummond, J.P. Peterson, Pat and Chuck Driggs, John and Michelle Plaster and Jeff and Mike Kibler. Dues of 50 cents each were collected for the year.

HAMANNS CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY
Friends and relatives are invited to an open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hamann Sr. of Kootenai for their golden wedding anniversary. Hosting the affair will be the Hamanns’ children, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hamann, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hamann, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hamann, Jr. and Mrs. Wanda Ostrum.

Jan.29, 1923 – NEWS FROM CLARKSFORK
Heavy snow again has encouraged the logging activity.
Through the courtesy of Bill Derr, 18 couples were afforded the pleasure of participating in a dance at Cabinet Saturday evening.
Regular assembly of the Boy Scouts was held Friday evening. If weather conditions permit, a hike is planned for the early part of February.
Mr. and Mrs. Meredith have removed to Talache where Mr. Meredith has a lucrative position with the mining company.
The exodus of several families to Talache is reported.

FORDS ARE POPULAR CAR IN BONNER
Of the 1300 auto licenses issued in Bonner county during 1922, 638 were to Ford car owners, 105 to Dodge owners, and 148 to Chevrolet owners. There were 38 other makes of cars represented with less than ten licenses to each make.

BUNGALOW PACK RIVER VALLEY NEWS
Snow fell to the depth of several inches Saturday and Sunday.
Elsie Tillman graduated from the eighth grade in the January examination.
Wiliam Koebel is taking a radio course in Spokane.
