Jan. 31, 1973 — PROUDLY WE SALUTE …
Airman Kathleen M. Becker, a 1971 SHS graduate and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Becker, Dover, is assigned to Kincheloe AFB, Mich., after completing Air Force basic training. She is assigned to a unit of the Strategic Air Command for further training and duty as a duplicating specialist.
Airman Kim R. Butigan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Butigan of Priest River, is assigned to the Technical Training center at Keesler AFB, Miss., after completing Air Force basic training.

ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Meredith, Lewiston, announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Rae, to Michael W. Gunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Gunter of Sagle. Miss Meredith, a 1972 Lewiston High School graduate, attends Lewis-Clark State College. Mr. Gunter, a 1969 SHS graduate, is a senior at the University of Idaho, majoring in Business Marketing. No wedding date has been set.

BULLDOG VARSITY
Players for the SHS varsity basketball team are George Andrews, Duane Pedersen, Paul Klatt, Jeff Clark, Gordy Lindgren, Bill Malone, Mike Hagadone, Andy Slavek, Dell Hatch, Stuart Lawson and Stan Maurer. Dennis Pedersen and Mike Borden are team managers. Ron Hunt is the head basketball coach and Ken Beaudoin is the assistant coach.

Jan. 31, 1923 — LOCAL MENTION
While playing on some ice that had formed in a mudhole in the vicinity of the corner of Main and Sixth streets last week, some children uncovered a cache of moonshine whiskey.
Len Arnett went to the vicinity of Grouse creek, above Samuels, Saturday, to superintend hauling out and banking 500,000 feet of logs along the Humbird railroad for the Dover Lumber Company.
The Mountain States Power Co. is completing work on the power line to Dover, beginning middle of the month. The line, which will bring electricity from the powerhouse at Albany falls to 40 or 50 dwellings, will be completed within two weeks.

BONNER APPLES TO NEBRASKA
Members of the Bonner Fruit Growers association have disposed of two more cars of apples; this time to Nebraska parties. The first car left Thursday and the other is being assembled to go forward this week. Both cars are made of Spitzenbergs and Jonathans. There is an active demand for Idaho Delicious apples but the local organization has disposed of all stock of that variety.

County Supt. Jessie Hawkins Tuck called at our school recently. She appeared to be satisfied with the work being accomplished by both teachers and pupils but was decidedly displeased with the heating of the primary room.
