BASIC offering summer youth programs
BLANCHARD — It's time for some summer fun for Blanchard youth as BASIC kicks off its youth summer learning programs next week.
The free programs begin July 12.
On July 12, it will be "Chemistry with Josh" and it will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is for youth ages 10 and older. Safety equipment is provided and a signed parent waiver is required.
On July 19, the program is "Electricity with Josh" and it will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is for youth ages 8 and older.
On July 26, the program will tackle bailing wire and duct tape. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is for youth ages 8 and older.
On Aug. 2, the program will focus on painted rocks and mosaics, and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is for youth ages 8 and older.
Class size is limited to 18 students and the programs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To sign up, email the community center at basicidaho@gmail.com. Parents must include the child's name and age, the classes that they would like to participate in, and the parent or guardian's name and contact information (including email and phone number).
Residents need to send a sack lunch and water bottle with their children. For shorter classes, just a snack is required.
BASIC is a nonprofit organization that hosts programs, services and fundraisers.
