Couch awarded art scholarship

Elizabeth Couch was selected by the Angels Over Sandpoint/Festival at Sandpoint to receive the groups' art scholarship in creative writing.

Couch was in the Sandpoint High School graduating class of 2023. During her high school years, she was active in the creative writing club and excels in writing fantasy-based fiction.

She wrote her first newspaper article in the sixth grade for the Bonner County Daily Bee exploring the Farmin-Stidwell student’s passions, such as why some kids are bullies, rescuing animals and the love of horror movies. From there, her writing skills took off.

Couch will be attending the University of Idaho to study environmental science. Elizabeth plans to use her writing skills to communicate to communities across the world the impact, and importance of caring for the environment.
