Column regurgitates same progressive drivel

| July 9, 2023 1:00 AM

Jim Jones' recent column regurgitates the same progressive drivel we’ve heard for years in Bonner County.

Does he realize Richard Butler has been gone for 20 years? Does he realize the very hate that he says he despises is what socialist Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad espouses when he refers to the “Christian Taliban?” Now, he says, Idaho is “facing a new type of extremist problem” coming in from other states.

Do you know why people are coming to Idaho? It’s because the top 10 worst states to retire are all run by liberal Democrats. California alone lost half a million residents last year. Jones uses phrases like contentious, haters, supremacists, hate-mongers, and extremists. His name-calling rhetoric against conservatives simply fans the flames of ideological division and hate. If Idaho is too great to hate, as Jones purports, perhaps it should start with him.

If by “ugly deeds of extremists” Jones means families who want to teach their kids about free speech, how to shoot a gun, or protest drag shows then there are a lot of us who live here.
