SANDPOINT — After a close game against the Prairie Cardinals on Friday, the Sasquatch 14U travel baseball team finished out the weekend strong, going 3-1 and outsourcing their opponents 53-7 in the process.

The team defeated the River City Thunder 26-2, the Cranbrook Bandits 16-0, and the Kootenay Kestrels 8-1 on War Memorial Field.

On Saturday, the team dominated in all three of their wins. Against the Thunder, the Sasquatch had 11 hits and drew 18 walks. Four players had multi-hit efforts in the contest. Jackson Wilson finished with a team-high five RBIs. Brennan Shaw and Andrew Aexel each had three hits and three RBIs. Logan Iverson rounded out the team’s big performances; he knocked home four runs and tripled against the Thunder.

Against Cranbrook, Bode Eacret and Bryce Lee pitched a combined no-hitter in four innings. Eacret pitched three innings giving up just two walks and striking out four batters; Lee pitched a 1-2-3 final inning and struck out two batters. At the plate, Carson Resso and Shaw led the team with three RBIs each.

In Saturday’s finale against Kootenay, six different Sasquatch players recorded singles. Resso and Daniel Vincent combined for four of the six team RBIs. On the mound, Logan Iverson pitched phenomenally. Iverson pitched four innings giving up two hits, no earned runs, and struck out one batter. Shaw finished off the game with two no-hit innings.

After a long day of baseball on Saturday, the team suffered its only weekend loss 4-3, against River City on Sunday.
