Support our children; vote for recall

| July 12, 2023 1:00 AM

The road ahead for WBCSD will be tough. We cannot give up; we must forge ahead. Our youth are at stake. I have always gone to public school. Extracurricular activities that public schools offer are a part of molding the future for our youth.

The option of attending a private or public school should be up to what the parents think is best. Turning a public school into something else is not healthy. I feel that is what some of our school board is trying to do. They have their own agenda and it is not in the better interest of our youth and does not represent the wants of the vast majority of WBCSD patrons. With all the credentials Branden Durst has (none of which qualifies him to be superintendent), I would think he would want to get back into politics where the clout is.

In case some are not aware, I'd like to point out some facts about our trustees that are being recalled: 85% of the patrons who voted for Mr. Rutledge and 75% of the patrons who voted for Susan Brown signed the recall petitions. I think maybe people have changed their minds because they now see what's going on with the hidden agenda.

We must get out and vote for the recall. Contact your neighbors, friends, everyone. We must vote them out and work hard to get our district back on track. The opposition might say "you'll never have another chance of the change we're trying to implement." My response? "I certainly hope not."

The overall numbers of voters for the levy were 38.18%. Pretty dismal. How about we shoot for a huge turnout, like 90%?

Let's make it happen. Vote!
