William Guinn, 76

| July 14, 2023 1:00 AM

William James Guinn, 76, lost his battle with cancer Monday, July 3, 2023, in the comfort of his home in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Bill was born Feb. 4, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., to Alvin and Rae Guinn. When he was 10, the family moved to Lancaster, Calif. After graduating from Antelope Valley High, he served in the United States Army. Prior to becoming self-employed as an inspector for school construction projects, Bill worked as a draftsman and building inspector for L.A. County.

Bill and his wife, Carol, were married Sept. 20, 1986, and made their home in Lancaster until relocating to Idaho a few years ago. He was always active in church and cherished his church family. His joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill was happiest outdoors whether traveling, camping, fishing, or anywhere near the water.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol; five children, Bill (Nancy) Guinn and Tifanne (Matt) Critchfield of Lancaster, Calif., Allan (Mandy) Guinn of Buckeye, Ariz., Chuck (Tracy) Tigert of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Doug (Jeanette) Tigert of Lancaster, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Alan (Susan) Guinn of Nixa, Mo.; and sister Rosanne (Rob) Griffith of Lancaster, Calif.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at North Summit Church, officiated by Pastor Steve Brown.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint will be handling arrangements. Please visit Bill’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book.

A second service is being planned in Lancaster at a future date.
