New public comment discussion on BOCC agenda
Commissioner Asia Williams has added a discussion regarding holding a 45-minute community chat Tuesday mornings to the Bonner County commissioners Tuesday meeting agenda.
The conversation would be held before the regularly scheduled commissioners business meeting.
The agenda item follows a decision by Commissioner Steve Bradshaw to end the public comment section three weeks ago. At the time, the commission chairman said he was ending the comments, which were held an hour before the regular business meetings, due to hostility and aggressive comments the commissioners as well as other county staff were receiving. Williams said she wants to reintroduce a form of public comment to allow the public to share their concerns.
Additionally, Commissioner Luke Omodt plans to discuss the adoption of Robert's Rules of Order for all commissioner business and advisory board meetings.
In other business, the commissioners are set to hear from the county’s EMS, Weeds and Road and Bridge departments regarding funding requests and grant application decisions.
The meeting is set to end with two executive sessions, one for human resources and the other regarding a prosecutor investigative report. Executive sessions are closed to the public to give officials a chance to discuss confidential information; however, all decisions must be made in open session.
Board of Bonner County Commission meetings are held at the Bonner County Administration building, 1500 U.S. 2 and also are live streamed via YouTube. To access the streams, visit the Bonner County YouTube page at bit.ly/3NElj9X.
