Barbara Gale Shaver, 80

Barbara G. Shaver was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Oakland, Calif., to parents Frank and Carrie Chance. She had a sister, Elizabeth, and a brother, Bob.

She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, Calif., in 1960 and was active and loved the drama club all during school.

Barb married Bob Shaver of Sandpoint, Idaho, her husband, best friend, and partner for 46 years, on Feb. 10, 1977. They had five children: Kim (John), Stephanie (Corey), Chad (Dawn), Roberta (Ben) and Jon. She has 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She worked at Crescent Jewelers, had a long career in the banking industry, and retired from the business department of Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho, in 2005.

Barb loved their place on Upper Pack River, watching and photographing the deer, bear, moose, birds and flowers. She had a quick sense of humor and a fiery spirit.

Barb passed away July 23, 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bob Shaver; her brother, Bob Chance; and her five children, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
