Sandpoint Signings – Betz, Ambridge pencil in college commitments

Two Sandpoint High School seniors recently signed college commitment letters at Sandpoint High School.

Signing were Payton Betz and Forest Ambridge.

Payton Betz – Betz signed to run Division III track and field at Pacific University located in Portland, Ore. She has run in every event from the 400-meter to the 3200-meter run, proving she is a versatile long-distance runner. The senior holds personal records of 2:38 in the 800, 5:40 in the 1600, and 12:38 in the 3200.

Forest Ambridge – Ambridge signed to play Division III lacrosse at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Va. Ambridge had an amazing season in the circle as one of Sandpoint’s lead face-off players. He won 72 face-offs this season accompanied by a 75-percent win rate. Recently, he earned Idaho all-state second team honors for his efforts. He will join a team that consists of three other Idaho natives and competes with some of the best Division III Lacrosse teams in the nation.
