'Sound of Music' performances set
Most are familiar with the story.
A carefree young woman studying to be a nun is sent to be a governess for a widower with seven children. The pair end up falling in love, and after performing in a national music festival, flee Austria to escape the Third Reich.
Based on Maria Von Trapp's memoir, "The Sound of Music" has become a renowned classic.
Now, the community is invited to experience "The Sound of Music" in a new way on Sunday, June 11, at Farmin Park in Sandpoint. The production is presented by the Suzuki String Academy and City Beach Organics.
From the stage of Farmin Park, the play will be an exciting and engaging musical experience for the whole family, organizers said.
It's a chance to enjoy an evening with family and friends, grab a bite at nearby food trucks and sing along with the music.
There will be two performances; the first at 2 p.m. and the second at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for youth or $15 for adults tickets.
