Library hosting community blood drive
Wednesday, June 14, will be a busy day at the library.
Vitalant will be returning for a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sandpoint library. The community has done a wonderful job at helping Vitalant achieve their goals in past blood drives, and we’re hoping we can help them again. All blood donated in the blood drive helps save local people in your community, and you even get a cookie when you’re finished.
A teen finance workshop will take place at the Sandpoint Library from 3:30 to 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn about essential financial skills like budgeting and building credit, which will carry over into adulthood and give them a jumpstart on things like saving for retirement, buying a car, renting an apartment and eventually owning their own home or business. These are skills that weren’t taught when I was in high school, and it personally took me many years of battling with debt to figure out. This workshop is highly recommended for any teen.
The Clark Fork library will be hosting an Intro to Cricut class from 5 to 6 p.m. This is a perfect opportunity for folks in the Clark Fork and Hope area to learn about how to use a Cricut Maker for paper crafts, fabrics and more. The Cricut is a powerful tool to make precision cuts, which is great for large projects or specific fabric patterns you wouldn’t want to cut by hand.
We hope you will join us at one of these events, and be sure to keep an eye on the library’s Events page on the website for many more programs coming this summer.
