One Act Play Festival auditions set

NEWPORT — Pend Oreille Players Association is holding auditions for its annual One Act Play Festival.

The One Act Play Festival will feature eight original short 10-minute plays, directed by 10 different people.

Auditions will be held at Pend Oreille Playhouse, 236 S. Union Ave., Newport, Wash., from 5:30-7 p.m. on June 12-13 and June 19-2. Those auditioning only need to attend one night.

No experience is necessary; just come as you are and be ready to have fun.

If cast, rehearsals would be arranged with the individual directors. Actors wouldn’t necessarily be called to rehearse every night. Please bring, if any, a list of your rehearsal conflicts. The Playhouse does not have understudies, so please note that you must attend all performances. Performances are 7 p.m., Aug. 4-5; and 3 p.m., Aug. 6

In addition to the One Act Play Festival, Pend Oreille Players Association has produced plays, musicals, radio-style readers' theater, concerts, and variety shows since 2004. In addition, the group offers a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors and a summer theater day camp for children.
