Local man receives additional sex charges
BONNERS FERRY — A Boundary County man charged with enticing youths over the internet has had those charges amended to lewd conduct with minors under 16.
Ronald Thurman Childers II, 29, is being held on two bonds of $150,000 and $50,000. Previously, the charges included two counts of enticing a minor under 16 through the internet or other communication device, both felonies. As of May 26, the charges were amended to include two counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16, per a motion from prosecution as the investigation continues.
Childers waived his right to a speedy preliminary hearing May 26, as the motion for additional charges was made.
The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Per Idaho Code, a conviction of enticing a minor can result in a maximum of 15 years of imprisonment.
A single sentence of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 can result in life imprisonment in the state of Idaho.
