Getha Jean Bejot, 83

| June 30, 2023 1:00 AM

Getha Jean (Vetter) Bejot went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2023, at the age of 83, at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Getha was born on May 21, 1940, in Bassette, Neb., to Virgle and Neva Vetter. She grew up in Bassette and worked on the family farm with her two siblings.

Getha married Roger E. Bejot on June 5, 1960, and together they welcomed five daughters.

In 1980, Getha and Roger moved to Sandpoint Idaho where they became the new pasters of Sandpoint Church of God. For years Getha devoted her life to teaching Sunday school, woman’s ministries, and playing the piano all while supporting and nurturing her husband, family and friends. In her later years, Getha continued playing a role in her local church where she loved playing music and fellowshipping with others.

Getha enjoyed sewing, going to yard sales and spending time in the mountains hunting and fishing with her family and friends. Getha was a phenomenal cook and baker and all who knew her loved her hospitality and the warmth she shared.

Getha most of all loved God, family and friends. With her five daughters, she was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all sharing a special bond with her.

Everyone who knew her expresses how blessed they were to have her in their life and what an impact she had on all. She will be greatly missed.

Getha is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roger J. Bejot; daughters, Lori Goldsby and Vonnie Chinn; and son-in-law Jerry Clagg.

Getha is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Clagg, Vergie and Tony Rutherford, Jennifer and Matt Tillberg, David Chinn, and Gary Goldsby; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Eldora Vetter; and sister and brother-in-law, Joani and Don Schelm; along with all the grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Family and friends are invited to sign Getha’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
