Shea seeks reelection to EBCL board
East Bonner County Library District board trustee Susan Shea has announced plans to seek reelection in the May 2023 general election.
Shea was elected to the EBCLD board in 2017. Over her six-year tenure, she said she has contributed a wide breadth of financial experience from her 45-year career in finance. Shea credits that experience to helping reduce the amount of the library's levy each year and to steadily reduce the community’s library tax contributions by declining an annual 3% tax increase.
Shea said she is a strong team player and she works collaboratively with the four other library trustees in order to promote the library district's vision, ensure its effectiveness and provide top-quality library services.
The U.S. Constitution guides her commitment to protecting the First Amendment rights of all of the community's citizens, Shea said.
A resident of Bonner County for 30 years, Shea has strong ties in the community. She has worked at Coldwater Creek, Timberline Helicopter, Southside Water & Sewer District and she was director of Bonner County’s Indigent and Charity Program.
She has been married for 45 years to Dan Shea, who recently retired from the Bonner County’s Audit Department.
