'Mama Mia!' Mime & Masque unveils newest musical

The community is invited to come and enjoy the fun as Sandpoint High School's Mime & Masque theater club unveils their newest musical — "Mama Mia!"
Opening night is Friday, March 17, with the performance set to start at 7 p.m. Performances also will be held at 7 p.m. on March 18, and March 23-25. A matinee is planned for March 18 at 2 p.m.
The international hit sensation "Mamma Mia! is Sandpoint High School's 2023 musical production presented by the theater club Mime & Masque. They are joyfully bringing this smash hit to Sandpoint and will dazzle audiences on stage from March 17-25.
This production is directed by Jeannie Hunter, with musical direction by Kamie Hobbs-Berkey, and choreography by Taryn Ann Quayle.
Tickets are $12 for general admission and can be purchased at Eve's Leaves, Eichardt's, and from cast and crew members. The musical takes place in the Sandpoint High School Auditorium.
The book was written by Catherine Johnson (originally conceived by Judy Craymer). The play is based on songs from the Swedish music group ABBA and written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, along with some songs by Stig Anderson. "Mamma Mia!" was originally produced in London by Judy Craymer, Richard East, and Bjorn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal. Additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch. Music was published by Universal Music Publishing Group, Emi Grove Park Music Inc. and EMI Waterford Music Inc.
Sandpoint High School is located at 410 S. Division Ave., Sandpoint. The play is being performed in the school's auditorium.
