Ted Schauwecker, 87
Ted Schauwecker, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on the first day of spring, Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Lakeview Cemetery in Sandpoint with military honors, Pastor Hollis Stewart will officiate. A reception will follow at the Lakeview Funeral Home, 301 Olive Ave., Sandpoint, Idaho.
Ted was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Peoria, Ill., to Jacob and Katherine Schauwecker. He grew up and attended schools in Peoria. From 1953 to 1956, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Korea during the war. After his military service, Ted attended Bradley University and studied architecture. His career span 30 years as an illustrator for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft, Spacelabs and Litton Industries.
Ted married Gloria Wallace on June 2, 1979, in Topanga Canyon, Calif. They moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, and Ted worked with Dr. Forrest Bird at Percussionaire until he retired in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Schauwecker of Sagle, Idaho; two sons, Ted L. Schauwecker of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Bill (Robin) Wallace of Hackett, Ark.; two daughters, Christi (Alfonso) Javana of Sagle and Stephanie Jensen of Everett, Wash.; five grandchildren, Jesse and Jennie Javana, Troy Wallace, and Ford and Alison Jensen; one brother, Jay (Kathy) Schauwecker of Dallas, Texas; and two nephews, Jeff Schauwecker of Reno, Nev., and Chris Schauwecker of Costa Mesa, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Schauwecker; and two nephews, Cary and Randy Schauwecker.
