WRIGHTS OPEN PAINT STORE AT 720 PINE
Frank and Jean Wright have opened their paint and wallpaper store at 720 Pine St. They recently purchased the building from the News-Bulletin and for the past six weeks have been remodeling the interior to fit their needs. James Cass, who operates Jim’s Upholstery Shop, adjoining at 724 Pine, has begun remodeling the front of his building to carry out the exterior theme developed by the Wrights.

TRIO BRINGS HOME NINE RIFLE AWARDS
Three Sandpoint junior shooters captured nine of the 20 trophies given out at the Idaho State Junior Gallery Rifle event in Coeur d’Alene last weekend. Nancy Hadley, 13, scored a 387 aggregate out of a possible 400 points. She was match winner and high girl. She fired in the prone and sitting positions. Gary Vess fired in the expert class. He won trophies in kneeling, offhand shooting and total aggregate score. Grant Vess fired in the marksman class. He won in offhand and total aggregate score. Elmer Nikkola and Dave Downing were their coaches.

Sunday school classes will resume Easter Sunday after being closed for the winter months. Rev. Merlin will conduct church services Easter morning.
Mrs. George Davis entertained the 3-H club last week. Cards were played and prizes awarded to Ruth Oliver, June Paulet and Alice Walson. Those coming out from Sandpoint for the afternoon were Verna Mae Davis, Bonnie Oliver and Alice Walson.
The new highway signs purchased by the community are helping slow down traffic during the school hours when the signs are in the road, but the rest of the time, cars are speeding through here with no regard for other traffic signs. Money is still needed to help pay for the new signs. Have you donated your share to help save the children?

PLAN IMPROVEMENTS AT CAMP STIDWELL
Bonner County Youth Camp, Inc., composed of representatives of fraternal, civic and farm groups, plans to secure a 28-foot whaleboat from WAA [War Assets Administration] for the camp. Ten tables, 100 cots and 100 benches were recently purchased at Farragut for the camp, and a large kitchen range was purchased from the WAA. Lumber donations to the camp include 3000 feet from Pack River Lumber Co.; 3000 feet from McFarland-Brown Lumber Co., and 1500 feet from J.C. Cranston. The Kiwanis club plans to move its building from Samowen recreation area and place it at Camp Stidwell. Mountain States Power will run electricity to the camp and Interstate Telephone co. will provide telephone service.
