Vote for Shea and keep our library stellar

Our library is wonderful exactly as is. It has been wonderful for the 30-plus years I've been a patron. Nothing much has changed except our rapidly expanding community.

What has changed is the extremist mentality, mostly new people moving to our community hellbent on infiltrating local government positions, spreading false narratives, bringing division and chaos. Don't be fooled — they are just making noise and willing to lie to achieve their end goal of destroying an institution where the whole community benefits. Our library is a place you can check out a plethora of treasures to read, listen to, watch … completely free of charge.

Never forget the Nazi book burnings in the 1930s. The Nazis got rid of books representing ideologies opposed to Nazism, books written by foreign authors, immigrants, even Helen Keller. It did not stop progress, the Nazi theology only accomplished one thing … the cold-blooded murder of over 16 million innocent human beings. Intolerance and censorship are dangerous for us all.

Susan Shea has done an excellent job for EBCL in her six-year tenure. Absolutely no one is asking for drag show story hours, as Stacey Rodriquez's husband has falsely stated in phone messages to voters. All this talk is simply a means for distraction and misinformation. Do not let the extremists conjure up fear that doesn't exist.

Susan Shea will continue to address real things that matter to the people of Bonner County.
