Library board doesn't need any changes
I was at the candidate forum for our library board of trustees, and I’ve been following the race since then. I’ve noticed a clear difference between the two candidates.
Susan Shea has real answers to questions about the budget. She gives honest, considered answers to questions, even when they’re meant to trap. Susan stands up for her principles and listens to our community. She’s a respected member of the current library board and has clearly built the relationships and mutual trust necessary to keep our library running smoothly.
Her opponent, on the other hand, has grossly misrepresented our library and its principles. She has not only questioned the financial decisions of the board but also maligned the selection of books on the shelves, the majority of which are books requested by patrons. We, as East Bonner County Library patrons, are immensely fortunate to have such an excellent library, which is rich not only in its written collection but in the programs it offers the community. Why would we possibly wish to change something that works so well for us? I’m casting my vote for Susan Shea to ensure that our library continues on its present path.
