Three Wampus Cats qualify for tennis state championship

Three Clark Fork High School tennis players qualified for the state tournament after their performances at 3A districts in Lewiston on Saturday, May 13.
Senior Emily Myers won two of her four matches to take fourth place in the girls singles consolation bracket. Myers had two perfect 6-0, 6-0 victories over opponents from Orofino and Clearwater Valley.
Sophomore Jamie Herrick and freshman Charlie Beaman also won two of their four matches in mixed doubles; the two placed fifth overall. Beaman and Herrick defeated their opponents from Clearwater Valley 4-6, 6-2, 10-7. They then defeated the same duo 6-2, 6-1 to take fifth place.
The Wampus Cats will be back in action at the 3A state tournament in Nampa, which begins Friday, May 19.
