| May 17, 2023 1:00 AM

Carol Remsen, 85, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Carol was born May 24, 1937, in Oyster Bay, N.Y., to Frank and Elsa Ingram. She graduated from high school in Oyster Bay and was married in 1956.

She moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1967 and worked various jobs including The View Café, Dub’s Drive-In, Bonner County Public Library, and, finally, for Northern Lights, Inc. until retiring in 2000.

After retiring, she served on the Bonner General Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for the blood bank.

Throughout her life, she was an avid reader and never shied away from a good book. She could be counted on having one or two with her wherever she went and was happy to discuss them if you wanted to listen and sometimes even if you didn’t.

One of her greatest passions was spending time with her dogs and spoiling them rotten. She was especially fond of German shepherds, but didn’t discriminate when it came time to give treats and pets to any dog that would let her.

She is survived by her three children, Barbara Drury of Tennessee, Susan (Jim) Stevens of Carson, Wash., and Chris (Eiron) Remsen of Sagle, Idaho; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsa; two grandchildren, Adam and Cori Cates; and her sister, Barbara Porter.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Carol’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
