Liberal letters are patently dishonest

| May 18, 2023 1:00 AM

I am writing in response to a series of very liberal submissions to the Bonner County Daily Bee, which are patently dishonest.

For example: Jeanelle Shields writes, in an introduction to her letter "As intelligent citizens, we all know that education and health care are the building blocks of a skilled labor force and a solid economy."

Jeanelle, this is your opinion, not a fact.

When you preface your letter to the editor like this, you are shoving your opinion down our throats, and if we don't agree, we are not intelligent. Because we don't agree with your opinion. You further state "but thankfully we will be able to goose-step while brandishing our weapons" … is this your way of calling conservatives Nazis without calling us Nazis? Wow.

Liberals whose only response to people who don't agree with them is to call them Nazis can hardly be deemed intelligent. The Nazi card has been played to death by liberals.

In a recent Sunday edition, three letters were submitted to the Bee. Dan Stayer, as usual, called Trump and his supporters fascists and liars.

Then Wren Warpula writes a fear-mongering letter about being shot for using the "wrong" bathroom and suggests that trans surgeries are "affirming healthcare." The other side of the coin is that trans surgeries for minors, who cannot make legal decisions because they are too young, can choose their gender and be submitted to puberty blockers and surgical mutilation.

Then Clint Frank states Bonner General is losing its OBGYN because of the Legislature. The Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe vs. Wade because there is no constitutional right to an abortion, and it is a states' rights issue.

Idaho is conservative and the majority of voters in the state of Idaho do not support abortion. So the OBGYN issue in Sandpoint is really about personal choice for the doctor, and if he or she feels they have to practice elsewhere because they can't perform an abortion, then they should leave. Delivering a baby has nothing to do with abortion anyway. Blaming the Legislature is absurd.

As usual, demonizing conservatives is about making threats and telling outright lies. Sad.
