Valor High School set to open
SANDPOINT — A new Christian high school is opening next year and is now accepting enrollment applications.
The new private school, located in Sandpoint, will offer classes for ninth and 10th grade students this fall.
"The mission of Valor Christian High School is to educate students in a biblical worldview, to high academic standards, with good character, as preparation to live victorious lives as Christian adults,” board member Luke Patterson said.
Valor will offer student-led extracurricular clubs and will partner with the Kootenai Thunder team for their first year of sports, with their own team applying to join the Mountain Christian League the following year, Patterson said.
The board and VHS officials said they are excited to open a school for families who want both a rigorous academic environment and one that also upholds strong Christian values.
“Our board and staff are committed to ensuring that we deliver a high-quality education that does not compromise in the areas of faith and truth," Patterson said. "Private school can be a sacrifice for families, but we believe that it truly is an investment into our most precious resource."
Equipping the community's youth "to be strong, intelligent and successful adults is truly a worthy mission and we look forward to partnering with local families to accomplish that,” Patterson said.
