Arbor Day celebration set for June 3

| May 25, 2023 1:00 AM

The community is invited to join the city of Sandpoint and its partners at the 2023 Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, June 3.

The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be held at Lakeview Park, 901 Ontario St. The annual tree planting ceremony takes place at 10:30 a.m.

In addition, the Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society will hold its annual bake and plant sales, Angels Over Sandpoint will hold a yard sale, and there will be educational booths, a chance to visit the Bonner County Historical Society & Museum. The event is a chance to learn about low-maintenance landscapes, take a self-guided arboretum tour, create nature crafts and collect stamps in an “adventure passport” for a free tree seedling and other prizes.

The KNPS plant/bake sale and the Angels Over Sandpoint yard sale begin at 9 a.m. Museum admission is free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event is hosted by the city of Sandpoint, with special thanks to its partners and volunteers: Angels Over Sandpoint, Avista, Aster Garden Design Center, Bonner County Historical Society and Museum, Bonner Soil & Water Conservation District, Kaniksu Land Trust, Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society, the Sandpoint Lions Club, Spokane Conservation District and Idaho Department of Lands.
