Ramona Joy (Dawson, Lovell, Lopez) Carlson, 70

Ramona Joy (Dawson, Lovell, Lopez) Carlson, 70, of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away May 2, 2023, in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Joy was born May 25, 1952, in Sandpoint to Carol Yvonne Dawson and later adopted by George Lovell.

Joy graduated Sandpoint High School in 1970 and married Roland Murphy Lopez. Joy attended Spokane Falls Community College. She loved art and poetry. Joy worked as a security officer at Spokane Court House, Spokane Airport, motels in Hawaii and The Guggenheim Museum in Las Vegas, Nev., where she met Carl Carlson, later they were married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Joy was a loving Christian wife. She is survived by her husband, Carl Carlson; brother Randy Lovell; son Cristopher Lopez; son William Lopez; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held outdoors at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 10 a.m.

Joy will be laid to rest at Fairmont Memorial Park in Spokane, Wash.
