Seed Library meeting set for Thursday
PRIEST RIVER — West Bonner Library officials hope the facility's free Seed Library is an idea that blooms in the community.
Seed Library volunteers and anyone interested in saving their own seeds are invited to attend a Thursday event to learn more about the concept and about the library's program. The event will be held at 1 p.m. at the Priest River Library.
Donated seeds will be packaged and participants are welcome to bring extra garden plants to swap.
The Seed Library is a free West Bonner Library program committed to nurturing locally adapted seeds and increasing the ability to feed yourselves. Seeds are signed out and grown and harvested, with some seeds shared back to The Seed Library.
All seeds are open-pollinated and/or heirloom varieties that will grow seed true to type. For more information call the library at 208-448-2207 or email westbonnerseeds@ gmail.com.
