Hall has earned the district's trust

| November 1, 2023 1:00 AM

I do not know Margaret Hall personally, but I have attended countless school board meetings and have been thoroughly impressed with her leadership abilities, her ability to think on her feet, and how she follows laws and procedures.

Margaret calmly speaks with consideration, listens to others, and responds when people reach out. She checks for legal clarification for big decisions, is responsible, listens to the community, and does not put the district in legal hot water for bad decisions. I have been extremely impressed with her as a board member and also as a candidate for reelection.

She does not smear, slander, or “play dirty politics.” She only talks about the positive things she would like to do moving forward. I hope voters realize that the school board is only a small part of what goes into test scores and graduation rates. The superintendent, principals, teachers, parents, and community play a far greater role.

I ask that all school board candidates address what they can do to fix things in our school district. Voters need to ask their candidates: What is your plan for the future of this school district? How much involvement have you had in our district and schools to have a clear picture of what needs improvement?

I’m asking that all address these in person because how can we be sure the answers we are getting on social media are coming directly from the candidates? I have seen Margaret address these questions, and I know who I trust to be our trustee.
