PREP VOLLEYBALL: Five Wampus Cats receive All-NSL honors

CLARK FORK — After winning another North Star League district title recently, five Wampus Cats received All-NSL honors for their efforts on the court this season.

North Star League Co-MVP: Senior, Eloise Shelton 

Eloise played as the primary outside hitter for the Wampus Cats this year.

“Eloise has been a force for our program on both offense and defense,” head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. “She's a vocal leader, versatile attacker and often sets the tone for our team on defense with her commitment to buckling down during big rallies. Eloise also never lost sight of why we play this sport —  it's so, so fun. We'll miss her big spirit next season.”

First Team: Senior, Lilly Reuter

Lilly transitioned into a setter this year and has excelled in assisting her teammates.

“When I think of a player who leads by example, I think of Lilly,” Kiebert-Carey said. “When she took over the setting position this season we anticipated some growing pains, but Lilly never complained and did everything she could to get hittable balls up for her teammates. The kid loves hard work and that's going to serve her well in everything she does.”

First Team: Senior, Amari Printz-Hay

Amari was Clark Fork's primary middle blocker and often led the team in not only blocks, but in other categories as well.

“Where Amari really made her mark this season was with her defense both on the net and in the back row,” Kiebert-Carey said. “I think a lot of teams saw a 6-foot girl playing all the way around and decided to attack her in the back row, and she proved herself time and time again as a talented passer. It's been awesome to see her confidence grow.”

First Team: Sophomore, Aurora Lane 

Aurora took on a big role this season as the Wampus Cats go-to right side hitter.

“I'm so glad our league chose to recognize Aurora this season, especially with this being her first season playing a substantial varsity rotation,” Kiebert-Carey said. “She's a dynamic hitter and we were able to depend on her to finish key rallies this year. She's a steadfast teammate and really, really fun to coach.”

First Team: Sophomore, Amie Matteson

Amie, who primarily plays middle blocker, stepped up all over the court this season for Clark Fork.

“I am so incredibly proud of how Amie stepped up this year,” Kiebert-Carey said. “She's such a coachable kid, always eager to make changes to better her team. She's not the biggest middle but still manages to get important kills. Her court vision is what sets her apart. I always catch myself saying ‘Smart play, Amie.’”
