Winter microgreens class on tap
Do you want to fresh healthy greens — even after the outdoor garden has been put to bed? Or maybe you don't have an outdoor garden and would still like to grow something.
Minigreens, microgreens, and sprouts are the answer.
They are simply the versions of vegetables and herbs when they are in their tiny sprout form. There are around 60 different kinds of microgreens. Not only do microgreens add a nutritional punch to salads, soups, or sandwiches, but they are also tender and offer delicious flavor.
Learn about equipment, seed supplies, lighting and space requirements from Master Gardener Kamori Cattadoris. She will walk class participants through the entire process.
The class is Thursday, Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The class fee is $5, ($3 for MGs), and can be paid by cash, check, money order, or through PayPal.
This class will be held at the Create Art Center, at 900 Fourth Street, Newport. To register for the class contact Beverly Sarles, at 509-447-2401 or via email at beverly.sarles@wsu.edu.
