Museum launches latest exhibit
SANDPOINT — The opening reception of the Bonner County History Museum’s new temporary exhibit, "Come What May, We Will Play," curated by Olivia Fee, is almost here.
Museum officials said the exhibit utilizes interactive displays to highlight how engaging with nature and in social and creative play has eased the weight of hardship throughout the community's history and still today.
Area residents are invited to be the first to see the new exhibit at the preview night Thursday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a wine bar and special talk with the curator. Tickets are available at bonnercountyhistory.org. The official opening night is Friday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. and is free to the public.
Among the activities included in the interactive exhibit are doll making, shadow puppets, and more. However, museum officials said the community will have to come play in the exhibit themselves to see all there is to experience.
"While this exhibit was curated to invite youth to enjoy history, we highly encourage adults to visit and channel their inner child, too," Bry Ells, museum administrator, said.
Ells invited the community to stop by Thursday or Friday for a “playdate” and enjoy "Come What May, We Will Play."
