Kids invited to help design playground

SANDPOINT — Sometimes childhood drawings end up on the kitchen fridge, other times they inspire a playground.

Kids of all ages are invited to have an impact just like that at an open house hosted by the city. The gathering is designed to generate new ideas for the expanded playground and splash pad at Travers Park.

Parents and their children are invited to share suggestions and partake in cocoa and cookies that will be provided. Drawings and discussion from participants will help inform the design of the park going forward. 

City officials said there will be a presentation by the project design team on possible park elements that could be implemented when construction begins in 2024.  

The open house will take place at City Hall, Nov. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.
