PREP BASKETBALL: Reuter scores season-high in Clark Fork girls loss to Lakeside
CLARK FORK – Lilly Reuter scored a season-high eight points for the Wampus Cats in Tuesday’s 59-16 loss to Lakeside at Clark Fork High School.
Clark Fork had trouble breaking the Knights full court press. As a result, the Wampus Cats found themselves down 40-3 at halftime. Despite the score, Clark Fork came out with a strong showing in the second half.
Eloise Shelton finished an and-one layup and sunk the free throw to get Clark Fork going early in the third. Shortly after, Reuter drained two 3-pointers within a minute of each other. She ended up finishing the night with a team-high eight points; all of which came in the second half. Amari Printz-Hay tallied four points, two steals, an assist, and nine rebounds for the Wampus Cats.
For Lakeside, Martina Rivera scored a team-high 22 points and added nine rebounds, five steals and three assists. Standout sophomore Kyleigh Wolfe finished with 18 points, nine assists, three steals and two rebounds.
“Lakeside has an amazing program; they’re always tough,” head coach Jordan Adams said. “I will say that we looked better in the second half. We had a few good minutes here and there. It is a great game to watch film on, so we’ll be doing that this week.”
Clark Fork (0-3) will look to get their first win of the season on Friday when Troy (Mont.) comes to town.
