Recently, the Sandpoint Elks held their 16th annual patriotic golf scramble in which they were able to raise $20,000 to distribute to local veterans and their families through the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Vietnam Veterans of America.

The event, which took place Sept. 17 at the Sandpoint Elks Lodge, was described by scramble chairman Linda Tatlock as a perfect day to support veterans while playing the game of golf.

“The incredible support that we continue to receive from our players, community, sponsors and volunteers in an effort to raise funds for veterans and their families in need is indeed humbling,” Tatlock said.

The scramble had nearly 100 combined individual supporters and local business sponsors.

“On behalf of the AML, MCL, VFW, the VVA, the Sandpoint Elks Lodge and myself, I would like to express our deepest thanks for your unwavering support in making our annual golf scramble to support veterans a resounding success,” Tatlock said. “Together let us continue to support and honor our veterans.”
