Kathleen Abbott, 85

Kathleen Patricia “Kathy” Abbott, 85, departed her loving family Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at the Seneacquoteen Cemetery.

Kathy was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Martin. She had a brother named Frank Jr., of southern Oregon, who preceded her in death.

The family moved to Dallas, Texas, when Kathy was a child before they ended up in their permanent residence in southern California. Kathy graduated from Glendale High School while working in local city government.

She married Roger Wall Abbott in 1957, and they raised their children, Michael and Debra, in Hacienda Heights before eventually moving to Newport Beach.

Kathy divorced Roger in 1972 and eventually moved to San Diego to work with a real estate developer. She moved back to Newport Beach and became an independent real estate auditor. She retired to Sandpoint in 2004, where she has lived since, near her daughter and grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her children, Debra (Paul) Herndon of Sagle, Idaho, and Michael (Marilyn) Abbott of southern California; her five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
