PREP GOLF: Sandpoint girls third after round one of state championship
MOSCOW — After round one, the Sandpoint girls golf team sits comfortably in third place behind Bishop Kelly and Twin Falls, and ahead of teams such as Canyon Ridge, Emmett and Shelly.
Sandpoint’s Taylor Mire is among the top in the state, currently tied for fourth place with a score of 82. All other Bulldogs are currently among the top 25 after round one, Alexa Tuinstra: 87 (9th place); Claire Loutzenhiser, 94 (15th place); Demi Driggs, 100 (21st place); Raegan Samuels 102 (23rd place). Bishop Kelly and Twin Falls are tied for first with a total to par gross of +45. Sandpoint sits at +75, and leads all other teams by sizable margins.
For the boys, Sandpoint’s Micah Young is currently tied for 33rd place after shooting a 91 in round one.
The 4A golf state championship will conclude today. The championship is being held at the University of Idaho Golf Club in Moscow.
